Websites That Discuss or Use Blogs in the Classroom

1. Weblogs in the Classroom
This is actually an article on weblogs and how they are useful in the classroom. There are other articles that you can go to to read about on weblogs in the classroom.

2. Classroom Blogs
This site gives you a whole list of different blogs such as blogging sites to set up a blog, blogging tips for teachers, and then examples of blogs in classrooms. This is a great site to find many things just on one page and it will take you to other pages and they could give you ideas.

3. The Write Blog - Who Says Elementary Students Can't Blog
This is an actual blog which a classroom uses. It looks like the teacher writes a post on something in the news or something she/he read and then the students respond to them, just their thoughts and questions. I think this is a very cool blog because it is educational, but it is a different way of using a blog that I had not thought of.

4. Teaching Today - Using Blogs to Integrate Technology in the Classroom
This website gives some great ideas on how blogs can be used in the classroom. There is also a section on "blogger talk", which I thought was really cool. Also the website is broken up into sections and then some in sub-sections. This website is very postive about using blogs in the classroom, but there is also a section on the risks of blogging, which I thought is great for those teachers who do not know that much about blogging, which I believe this website was designed for them.

Philosophy of Using Technology in the K-12 Curriculum

My philosophy of using technology in the K-12 curriculum is mainly giving my students the chance to learn something in a new way; of seeing something in a new light. Also I would hope that they would be able to get more information by using some form of technology, than they would just learning from me or looking in numerous books. I hope to use technology in a fun way that also expands their minds and their thinking.
